Why should I send my child to Kindergarten?
Children develop and learn the fasted during their first five years than at any other age. Camp Hill Kindergarten provides high quality learning experiences in a safe nurturing environment. Our teachers guide, encourage and assist with the development of each child. Our play based activities and curriculum ( See C&K Building waterfalls) help children to learn a range of educational , social and emotional skills which can help children to transition to more formal education.

How old does my child need to be?
In Queensland a child who is four years of age by 30 June in the year they will attend is eligible to attend. Kindergarten is not compulsory. For more information of kindergarten in Queensland please click on the Queensland Government’s website

Community Kindergarten what does that mean?
While we are affiliated with C & K, our Kindergarten is managed by a Committee of parents/carers. This includes the administration of the centre, staffing, and the financial budget. All parents/carers are welcome to nominate at the AGM to hold a position on the Committee. All committee members require a Blue Card.

Do you welcome parents/carers to become involved in the program?
Parents play an important and valuable role in the education of their child, and your involvement is welcomed. Parents can help in a variety of formal and informal ways such as volunteering for parent roster or excursion, supporting and encouraging your child’s efforts at kindergarten, and by saving materials for use in the program. We welcome your support for various activities organised by the Parent’s Club and Management Committee including social activities, fund raising and the maintenance rosters. We also love to have parents to share their skills and interests in the education program for example, cooking, craft, sewing, gardening, music, talking about your job for e.g.emergency services, armed forces, artist.

How many children in each class?
There are 22 children in each class and each class has two teachers.

How many days would my child attend?
Children either attend in the beginning of the week (Monday and Tuesday with alternate Wednesday) 1A and 2A Groups or at the end of the week (Thursday and Friday with alternate Wednesday) 1B and 2B Groups. Children attend a five day fortnight, with groups alternating on Wednesdays. The Kindergarten terms are aligned with the Queensland State Education Department’s school terms and holidays.
